Pressure cooker Lentil Soup


  • 4 cups chicken/vegetable broth. 
  • 2 cups of water. 
  • 1 ½ cups yellow lentils. 
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil. 
  • 1 large onion, chopped. 
  • 1 carrots, chopped.
  • 2 stalks celery chopped.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced. 
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder. 
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin. 
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 
  • 1 teaspoon salt. 
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper. 
  • 1 bay leaf.


  1. Set Pressure Cooker at sauté mood and add in olive oil. 
  2. Add the minced garlic, onions, celery, and carrots. Cook until they’re tender and soft. 
  3. Add in cumin, chili powder, paprika, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Add in lentils then pour the broth and water and stir everything for 3 minutes. 
  4. Lock the pressure cooker lid and set to pressure cook at high temperature for 15 minutes. 
  5. After the cooking time ends, turn off the cooker, allow it to release pressure for 8 minutes then carefully open the lid and remove the lid. 
  6. Soup is ready to be served.
